abstract = "The APA do Pratigi is completely located on the Atlantic Forest
context. According to its management plan, the APA do Pratigi has
different remaining forests as Montane and Submontane Atlantic
Rain Forest, Lowland Atlantic Rain Forest, mangroves, sandbanks
and marshlands. Recognize and monitor the use and land cover of an
area with intends to realize the spatial organization and patterns
is an important strategy to the landscape manage. The aim of this
survey was to analyze the use and land cover in an Environment
Protected Area, APA do Pratigi. Rapideye sensor imageries were
applied to make a mosaic to cover all limited area. The training
samples was based on parameter as color, texture and spectral
behavior using visual interpretation. The band composition
utilized was RGB 5-4-3. The classification was realized using
Maximum Likelihood Classifier. To attender the requisite of
minimum mapping unit considering the 1:250000 scale, we used the
software ArcGIS to the polygons generalization with area smaller
then 0,25 hectare. The results showed that the most import land
cover in APA do Pratigi is Mature Forest with representation of
30,19%, although the wood exploration on the 70s. After Mature
Forest, the highest representation is by Young Forest, 11,81%.
Finally Agroforest with 10,26% of representation.",
